Escape From Tarkov and Duckov in New Feb Collab
Duckov Turns Tarkov Bosses into Ducks; Tarkov Yet to Reveal More
Escape From Tarkov (EFT) will be collaborating with Escape From Duckov, according to social media updates from both titles. While the Tarkov side of the crossover has yet to disclose further details, Duckov's trailer revealed that Tarkov content will go live in their own game on February 10.
In the short 24-second trailer, duck versions of the Scav bosses Killa and Tagilla from Escape From Tarkov are seen as new characters in Escape From Duckov. The Steam blog post from the Duckov developers, Team Soda, also unveiled a new mount system via horses, additional festival content, and a freshly rolled-out map, but details have yet to be specified.
On the other hand, EFT developer and publisher Battlestate Games only posted a photo teasing "Wanna have a party?" with a duck from Duckov in Tarkov's world. Although no exact date has been confirmed yet, players are anticipating the crossover content dropping in EFT around the same timeframe as February 10.
Many players on social media are left wondering whether the collaboration will include a duck figurine, as well as other collectible items and cosmetics. Some joked about ducks running around Tarkov, but others opposed the idea, given the EFT's overarching appeal of gritty realism.
From Parody to Crossover
The first month of the year saw the official X (formerly Twitter) accounts of both games, as well as Escape From Tarkov director Nikita Buyanov’s, hinting at the crossover. EFT shared a humorous video of a penguin lost in the game, whereas Duckov's account posted a duckling randomly finding a doodle of Tagilla. The latter also interacted with Buyanov's social media update about loving ducks. Moreover, on January 16, Buyanov asked his followers which game or project they would like EFT to collaborate with.
Escape From Tarkov is a hardcore tactical first-person shooter set in the Russian region of Norvinsk. Meanwhile, Escape From Duckov parodies the former—as heavily indicated by the name—using ducks in a PvE top-down shooter. The upcoming February project will be the first major collaboration for each game.
