Roll20 X Discord
Beta Testing and Exclusive Offers
Roll20 announced on their Twitter (X) last Wednesday that they have collaborated with Discord. The upcoming integration will embed Roll20's full virtual tabletop (VTT) directly into Discord, allowing players to seamlessly navigate campaigns, manage characters, and roll dice – all in one place, eliminating the hassle of switching between Discord’s app and Roll20’s website. For Roll20 Pro subscribers, the excitement is doubled as they gain exclusive access to beta test this collaboration starting April 30th.
What's more, to mark this milestone, Roll20 is offering enticing discounts for newcomers to its Pro subscription. For a limited time, players can snag a year of Pro Annual for just $79.99 or opt for a monthly subscription at $7.99 – a 27% discount. With access to all the perks of Pro, including official modules for popular tabletop RPGs like D&D and Pathfinder, subscribers will be among the first to explore the integrated Roll20 Activity on Discord. As beta testers, their input will play a pivotal role in shaping the final product before its anticipated global launch later this year.
Roll20 Answers Some Questions
Roll20's recent FAQ shed light on their decision to launch Roll20 on Discord. The move aimed to streamline gaming experiences, making it easier for players to manage their games. While initial access to the Activity Beta on Discord requires at least one Roll20 Pro subscriber in the party, plans are in place to make it available to all users later this year. Furthermore, dynamic lighting and other Pro features will be available during the beta phase, although some bugs may occur. Additionally, integrated voice and video chat will remain available on Roll20.net, but won't be accessible within the Activity on Discord to prevent redundancy.

Project Jumpgate
This isn’t the first time Roll20 has moved forward with an innovation like this. Last March 27th, they launched the beta testing for project Jumpgate. This project revamped Roll20’s VTT promising an enhanced performance and usability. From seamless campaign transfers to optimized performance and user experience refinements, project Jumpgate aimed to equip Roll20’s VTT with the latest web technology.
Project Jumpgate beta access is exclusively available to Pro subscribers. According to their statement in the FAQ, any player that initiates a game within Discord automatically integrates Jumpgate functionality. However, it's important to note that this is a beta-within-a-beta, presenting a unique experience with potentially more bugs than usual.
