ARC Raiders Developers Got The Jokes on CoD: Black Ops 7 Censorship
Still on Track to Release
ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios has responded to their game’s title being censored in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s in-game chat. In a Twitter (X) post on October 7, the studio made a witty response in light of the censorship incident.
The tweet reads, "We're still on track to release *** ******* on October 30th!" with the asterisks presumably standing in for their game’s title, ARC Raiders. The use of asterisks resembles how censored terms appear in the chat of CoD: Black Ops 7.
A similar situation occurred in the EA App Chat on August 5, 2025, where fans over at ARC Raiders’ Reddit page reported that the game’s title was censored when typed in the chat. EA quickly resolved the issue the following day, but did not make an official statement on the matter.

It is not a secret that ARC Raiders is an upcoming competitor to both CoD: Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6, with all three of those shooters releasing pretty close to one another. Fans quickly assumed that censoring competition in their chats is to be expected.
Interestingly enough, both CoD: Black Ops 7 and the EA App Chat are not censoring each other in their respective chats, nor other shooters, such as Fortnite and Escape From Tarkov. Although many suggest that the situation is something intentional, Embark Studios seems to make light of the incident and continues to focus on the upcoming release of ARC Raiders.
Unintentional According to Activision

A few hours after the situation blew up online, Activision responded to clarify the misunderstanding. Activision replied to Insider Gaming’s inquiry on the matter, stating that the censorship was unintentional.
They noted that it was a result of a text filter error due to the combination of the terms "Arc" and "Raiders." Activision said, "Our text-based moderation system has ‘Arc’ set as an alt of an inappropriate word. Paired with Raiders, the system flagged the phrase. Those filters have been adjusted."

It is safe to assume that this could also be the same reason for ARC Raider’s censorship on the EA App Chat. Regardless, fans of the genre will be overjoyed as the following weeks will be loaded with the release of new shooters such as ARC Raiders, CoD Black Ops 7, and Battlefield 6.
ARC Raiders is set to be released on October 30, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below.
