Also Announced That Battlefield 2042's Season 7 Is Its Last
As recently announced by EA, Motive will collaborate with other EA studios, including DICE, Criterion, and Ripple Effect, on expanding the Battlefield universe with its planned "connected multiplayer experiences and single-player" content. The decision comes after the conclusion of Battlefield 2042 Season 7 Turning Point, which also marked the end of content updates for the game.
Heading the new Battlefield team at Motive are Philippe Ducharme, executive producer of the Dead Space remake, and Roman Campos-Oriola, creative director. "Their proven expertise in storytelling, immersive battles and developing on the Frostbite engine uniquely positions them to help advance the vision for Battlefield," said Motive GM Patrick Klaus. The endeavor is currently led by Vince Zampella (EVP, Group GM of Respawn and Battlefield) and Byron Beede (SVP, GM Battlefield).
In line with the developments, Battlefield 2042 franchise general manager Beede announced EA is shifting the company’s resources, stating that Battlefield 2042's current season would be its last. However, ongoing support for the game will include new challenges, events, and modes, albeit without official seasons.
