Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition Skin Issues and Breaking Records
Free Phantom Skins for Standard Users

Battlefield 6 (BF6) inadvertently gave out Phantom Edition skins to Standard Edition users because of an unannounced technical issue. Based on multiple community threads across Reddit and other platforms, players received the skins without notification following the release of update 1.0.1.6 for no reason at all.
These reports also popped up on the EA Forums, to which EA community manager EA_Pulsar has responded, "Thanks so much for flagging this! We’re looking into reports of Phantom Edition items appearing unlocked—please hold off on equipping them. We really appreciate your patience and your support."
Coincidentally, BF6 has an existing bug with Phantom skins not appearing for those who purchased the game’s Phantom Edition. In a Twitter (X) post on October 11, Battlefield Comms acknowledged the issue and noted that they will provide an update when it is resolved.
They have since released an article on EA Help to assist players in finding the missing Phantom Edition rewards in the game. According to the guide, players must first switch to the Nato faction in the Loadouts tab as the Phantom Edition skins only work on that faction.
Once done, players must restart their system to refresh the rewards. They are also advised to verify that they are using the correct EA account for the game and double-check whether they have discarded their rewards, as those items are non-replaceable.

Those who still have problems with missing skins or rewards are urged to contact EA’s support page for further assistance. However, standard users who have received Phantom skins continue to have access to those items, and EA has yet to release a fix for the issue.
Despite existing issues in the game, BF6 continues to have "Very Positive" reviews on Steam. Fans praised the game’s more grounded approach to military combat, exhilarating environmental destruction, and cinematic in-game moments.
Here at Game8, we gave Battlefield 6 an 82 out of 100 for its improved gameplay and overall performance, taking the series in the right direction. To know more about our thoughts on the game, check out our review below.
Biggest Launch in Franchise History

BF6 had an explosive opening weekend, becoming the biggest launch in the Battlefield franchise's history. In a press release on October 16, EA stated that the game had sold over 7 million copies in its first three days.
This is a significant comeback from their previous title, Battlefield 2042, as EA CEO Andrew Wilson noted during EA's earnings call for Q3 FY2022 that it had "disappointing sales."
Furthermore, BF6 also reached EA’s highest concurrent player count on Steam, with 747,440 players, surpassing the previous record holder, Apex Legends (624,473), as well as its own Open Beta (521,079).

Battlefield General Manager Byron Beede and Executive Vice President Vince Zampella expressed their gratitude to the fans for the resounding launch and emphasized that there is more to come. Zampella stated, "We appreciate you joining us for Battlefield 6’s momentous launch. We have so much more to come in the weeks ahead."
WithBF6 Season 1 releasing on October 28, it is expected that the game’s numbers will continue to go upward and shatter more records. Kicking off with the first phase titled "Rogue Ops," the first season begins with the addition of a new map with Blackwell Fields, Strikepoint game mode, and more content.
Battlefield 6 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games, and EA App. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
