Battlefield 6 Season 2 Delayed to February
Battlefield Studios Needs More Time for Season 2

Battlefield 6 will be delaying Season 2 until February 17th, with Battlefield Studios stating that, after considering community feedback, they needed "extra time to further polish and refine Season 2." This delay will affect both Battlefield 6 and the free-to-play standalone REDSEC battle royale mode.
In the meantime, the game has extended Season 1 past its planned end date of January 20, while adding new Weekly Challenges and an extra, "Bonus Path" to complete alongside the Season 1 Battlepass. Not much has been revealed yet for what’s to come in Season 2 apart from a short teaser showing a character in a gas mask, but nothing is known about what this could imply for the game.

The extra "Frostfire" Bonus Path will be released on January 27th, and players can unlock new cosmetics, Weapon Packages, and XP boosts through its free and paid tiers. There will also be a planned Valentine’s Day event, as well as double XP weekends, as the game approaches Season 2.
The Battlefield Community is Up in Arms

Community feedback regarding the delay has been mostly negative, with fans across social media being displeased with the lack of transparency and information about the delay, as well as the lack of compelling content for Season 1.
Battlefield 6’s 1st Season introduced REDSEC alongside three other major updates: Rogue Ops, California Resistance, and Winter Offensive. These updates brought new cosmetics, maps, and weapons to the game, but fans have been vocal on social media about their dislike of these new additions due to persisting issues such as inconsistent gunplay, small maps, and uninteresting new game modes.
With Battlefield Studio’s promise to use player feedback to improve Season 2, players will have to wait to see if the team uses this delay to deliver on the kind of content and fixes that they’ve been waiting for.
Battlefield 6 is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Read more about it in our article below:
