⚫︎ During the November 2025 PlayStation State of Play, SEGA announced that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is expanding its roster with SpongeBob SquarePants joining the racing circuit on November 19. SEGA also confirmed a line-up of free post-launch racers, starting with NIGHTS in December 2025, followed by AiAi in January 2026, and Tangle & Whisper in February 2026.-->

⚫︎ Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Update adds Joker from Persona 5 on October 22. The Phantom Thief of Hearts joins the race alongside an Arsene-themed kart and an in-game "Joker Festival" event from October 23 at 8:00 p.m. EDT to October 26 at 7:59 p.m

⚫︎ Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds takes a lot of inspiration from classic Sega racing titles, according to the developers. The game's drifting and driving mechanics are taken from Sega Rally and OutRun, among other Sega racers.

⚫︎ Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be releasing its Minecraft DLC on October 8, 2025. This upcoming DLC will bring iconic Minecraft characters, such as a Creeper, Steve, and Alex as racers, as well as a new race track for the game.
