Deep Dive During Bandai Namco Summer Showcase 2025
Bandai Namco continues to reveal more information about the upcoming Digimon Story title. During Bandai Namco Summer Showcase on July 3, Producer Ryonosuke Hara presented a deep dive on the monster-taming RPG.
Hara said that the game will be perfect for long-time fans and newcomers alike. He stated, "Of course, longtime fans will feel right at home—but we also designed this game to be a perfect entry point for newcomers, whether you've never played a Digimon game before or are just discovering the world of Digimon for the first time."

The story revolves around players investigating strange events happening in Tokyo, Japan, when suddenly, an explosion transports them 8 years in the past. This journey takes fans across both the human world and Digital world while preventing both world’s collapse. "At the heart of the story is a bond that transcends time and worlds—a core theme that has always been central to the Digimon franchise," Hara noted.
He continued to explain the game’s different mechanics and features, such as the vast and highly-detailed Digital world, an expanded elemental and attribute system, the returning DigiFarm, and the new Cross Arts ability that lets players "trigger powerful support actions or follow-up attacks."

Hara also emphasized the importance and uniqueness of Digivolution and the potential it has on making Digimons stronger. With over 450 trainable Digimon and a revamped turn-based battle system, Time Stranger promises to take the next generation of Digimon games further.
