Snake is Sneaking Into Rainbow Six Siege
Finally, Snake and Sam Fischer Working Together
Rainbow Six Siege has teased a collaboration with iconic stealth action series Metal Gear Solid, with series protagonist Solid Snake coming as a playable Operator. This is the first stop on Rainbow Six’s upcoming Year 11 roadmap, which will be revealed in a livestream on February 15.
The trailer shows Splinter Cell protagonist Sam Fischer as "Zero," his playable Operator in Rainbow Six, contacting Snake through the Metal Gear Solid series’ iconic codec calls. The call cuts to a shot of Snake in his Sneaking Suit from Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2, holding his signature Mk. 45 SOCOM Pistol.

The interaction between Zero and Snake has brought a lot of excitement to fans all across social media, as Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell were two of the most acclaimed and popular franchises in the genre and are renowned for their similarly innovative gameplay and high action, political storytelling.
Rainbow Six’s Solid History of Collaborations
This isn’t the first time that Ubisoft has brought different worlds and characters together, as Rainbow Six has a long history of collaborations with other franchises. Throughout the game’s lifespan, crossovers have been done with the likes of Halo, Yakuza, Rick and Morty, and most recently, Amazon Prime superhero series The Boys.
Most Rainbow Six crossovers come in the form of cosmetic skins for Operators, apart from the game’s collaboration with Splinter Cell which brought over Sam Fischer as a playable Operator with his own specific moveset. The MGS crossover will now mark the second playable guest Operator, so it can be assumed that Solid Snake will have a moveset that draws from his weapons and skills in the games.

Not much is known yet about what else the partnership with MGS will bring, including if it will also introduce new skins based on other Metal Gear characters like Liquid Snake or Revolver Ocelot. More information about the crossover will be announced on February 15th.
Rainbow Six Siege is now available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For more on the hit tactical first person shooter, read our article below!
