Dynamax Legendary Pokemons Taking Flight Within Three Weeks
Featuring the Iconic Trio: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres
Dynamax forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will soar the skies in Pokemon GO starting from January 20 to February 3.
The gigantic legendary bird trio will appear in five-star Max Battles at Power Spots, where you battle and capture Dynamax Pokemons. Each legendary bird will appear on Mondays between the said date. Here is the breakdown of their debut:
⚫︎ Dynamax Articuno: January 20
⚫︎ Dynamax Zapdos: January 27
⚫︎ Dynamax Moltres: February 3
Additionally, after their much-awaited debuts, these legendary birds will be available for a whole week after their release. Aside from that, there will be "Legendary Flight Timed Research," giving you the opportunity to capture Pokemon, some of them even have a high chance of being Shiny, best for fighting the legendary birds. You can also gain Candy and Max Particles to power them up! Here is the schedule for this exclusive Timed Research in the player’s local time:
⚫︎ Dynamax Articuno - January 17 at 10:00 am - January 20 at 7:00 pm (Charmander, Beldum, Scorbunny)
⚫︎ Dynamax Zapdos - January 24 at 10:00 am - January 27 at 7:00 pm (Drilbur, Cryogonal, Grookey)
⚫︎ Dynamax Moltres - January 31 at 10:00 am - February 3 at 7:00 pm (Squirtle, Krabby, Sobble)
Victory Pokemon, Victini, Obtainable Once Again
Pokemon GO also updated the details for Pokemon GO Tour: Unova’s global event. While not all players can participate in the in-person event, the Pokemon GO team announced that players around the world can upgrade their free Tour Pass ticket to a Tour Pass Deluxe to unlock better rewards and speed up their progression.
On 10:00 am of February 24, 2025, all Pokemon GO players will receive their free Tour Pass, where they can "collect Tour Points and rank up to get additional rewards through the end of the event on Sunday, March 2, at 6:00 p.m. local time."
Aside from faster progression, upgrading to Tour Pass Deluxe allows players to immediately encounter the Mythical Pokemon Victini and obtain a new item, the Lucky Trinket, after reaching the highest tier. This brand-new item allows you to set your status with a friend to Lucky Friends. This allows you to obtain a Lucky Pokemon (boosted stats and low power-up cost) via trade. After trading, the Lucky Friends status will be cleared, making it a one-time opportunity to get a powerful Pokemon successfully.
The Tour Pass Deluxe and Tour Pass Deluxe + 10 Ranks bundles are available for $14.99 USD and $19.99 USD, respectively. The rewards from these upgrades will expire, so make sure to claim them before March 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
