Dragon's Dogma 2 First Trailer Comes Out At PlayStation Showcase
More Than a Decade Since Dragon’s Dogma 1
Capcom has finally come out with the first trailer for the much-awaited sequel to Dragon's Dogma: Dragon's Dogma 2. The trailer first came out during the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday, showing players what to expect from a game that took more than a decade since the original Dragon's Dogma came out in 2012.
Dragon's Dogma 2 Story Speculation
Appears To Be Set Right After Dragon’s Dogma 1
Details in the trailer are thin as to what Dragon's Dogma 2's story will be. But based on lines from the trailer, we speculate that it's set directly after the events of Dragon's Dogma 1.
Meanwhile, according to the website, we're going to play once again as an Arisen and embark on a quest to reclaim our heart from the Dragon. Helping us along the way are the Pawns -- enigmatic beings devoted to serving the Arisen and aiding them in battle.
But amid this journey is a brewing conflict between a kingdom of humans, and a kingdom of beastmen... and the Arisen will most likely be caught in the middle of it.
Dragon's Dogma 2 Setting Speculation
Parts of Gransys Seen in the Trailer
Many elements of the setting were also shown in the trailer, though specific details are scarce. The game appears to still be set in the Duchy of Gransys, based on the presence of locations like the Bluemoon Tower.
But many new locations have also been added, which means we may finally see the lands beyond the northern mountains... or maybe even the seas beyond Gransys. At least one location has been mentioned in the trailer (Vermund) so this might be a new setting for players to explore.
