Riot Announces 2XKO Alpha Lab Playtest Kicking Off in August

Runs from August 8 to 19, 2024

Riot Games announced earlier today the upcoming launch of its 2XKO Alpha Lab Playtest, set to begin this August. The playtest will run from August 8 to 19, 2024 and allow players from selected regions to experience an early version of the company's upcoming action fighting game, 2XKO.

According to Riot's announcement, 2XKO is "still in an unpolished state," and the team aims to make improvements based on player feedback before the game's official launch in 2025. "The team’s hope is that by giving you our first draft—jank and all—we’ll have time to cook before the game launches in 2025," Riot said in the announcement.

The 2XKO Alpha Lab is the "first of many" planned tests and will include both local and online play, according to Riot. Participants are allowed to experience the alpha playtest with one friend through a single invite code. Registration opens at 1:00 PM PT on June 26, 2024, and closes shortly after the playtest begins on August 8.

To participate, players must have a Riot Account. Those without an account will be prompted to create one during the sign-up process. The first round of invites will be sent out at 1:00 PM PT on August 8, 2024. All participants will be able to play the game on PC and one additional console. Once the Alpha Lab code is redeemed on a console, it cannot be switched to another.
