Whispers in the Fog Overview
Whispers in the Fog is an upcoming first-person psychological horror game from solo developer Pasquale Scionti that was publicly revealed during Future Games Show 2025. It is set in a cursed, rain-slick Japanese forest, where players are placed in the shoes of a protagonist who wakes in the mist with little to no memory. Their objective is then to investigate and survive by following voices as they explore decaying landmarks and piecing together fragmented clues. Doing so will help him uncover what happened and, ultimately, find a way home.
Mechanically, the game leans into minimalist, audio-forward horror. It’s played from a first-person perspective with a limited toolkit (a flashlight and small inventory), no in-game map, and an emphasis on exploration, puzzle solving, and environmental storytelling.

Whispers in the Fog Gameplay
Whispers in the Fog is played from a first-person perspective with a focus on on-foot exploration. Players start with a handheld light source and a backpack for carrying items; there is no in-game map, so locating objectives depends on moving through the terrain and interpreting audio cues. The game directs player movement through "whispers" and other sounds that indicate points of interest or danger.
Gameplay includes puzzle solving and examining haunted locations scattered through the forest, like an asylum, cave, village, and cemetery. Players gather and use items found in the world to progress past obstacles and to access new areas.
