Skate Story Overview
Skate Story is an indie skateboarding title developed by Sam Eng and published by Devolver Digital, arriving on PC and consoles in December 2025. The game casts players as a glasslike demon in a stylized Underworld who accepts a Faustian bargain: skate to the moon and swallow it to win freedom. Along the way the player is asked to help other lost souls (including a forgetful frog) and confront hostile creatures
Similar to other skateboarding games, Skate Story focuses on precise board control and a deliberate trick set presented with tutorial visuals that show foot placement and timing. Players must manage weight and body movement to land tricks, chain fluid lines, and use skating itself as a means of traversal and combat against enemies.

Skate Story Gameplay
Skate Story is a skateboarding game. As such, executing tricks are one of the game’s central gameplay mechanics. Players control a glass-bodied demon on a skateboard and use familiar skate actions such as ollies, kickflips, and grinds to traverse a world called The Emptylands. The game uses trick buttons and gives players access to a variety of maneuvers from the start.
By chaining tricks and selecting routes through environmental obstacles, the players carve their own paths and explore freeform skate spots. Successfully completing skate trials lets players level up, learn new tricks, and unlock new skateboard gear (decks, wheels, trucks) for customization.

Glasslike Demon
The protagonist, an unnamed glass-bodied demon, forged in the depths of the Underworld, struck a deal that would make even Faust blush. He traded his fiery torment for a skateboard and a shot at redemption. He now has to skate to the moon and swallow it for the Devil to free him.
