⚫︎ Nova Roma's Early Access has been delayed to March 26, 2026, to address feedback from the public demo. The game was initially set to release on January 22.

Nova Roma Overview
Nova Roma is a sandbox city-builder by Lion Shield, that had its Early Access release on Steam and Epic Games Store on March 26, 2026. This is the developer’s second city-building game after their well-received Kingdoms and Castles in 2017.
Set after the fall of the Roman Empire, players must lead a band of its enduring populace to search for new lands and rebuild civilization into a bastion known as Nova Roma. By raising their humble villages into grand cities, they must work to meet their citizens’ needs, harvest resources, pass laws, and appeal to the will of the gods.

Nova Roma Gameplay
Nova Roma is a top-down Roman city-builder sandbox game. Players must lead a band of citizens into new lands and develop them into a bastion worthy of the fallen Roman Empire. Players must harvest resources and use them to build more structures, from shops to large coliseums, while meeting the citizens’ needs.
On top of this expansion, players must also appease the gods by building temples in their honor. Fail, and they will rain down heavenly devastation through natural calamities.
