Europa Universalis V Overview
Europa Universalis V is a grand strategy game developed by Paradox Tinto and published by Paradox Interactive, the long-awaited sequel to Europa Universalis IV. It is set to be a major evolution of the franchise, with a focus on greater depth and realism.
The game begins in 1337, at the start of the Hundred Years' War, and spans roughly five centuries, allowing players to guide any of hundreds of nations through a deeply simulated historical world. Key new features include a pop
system that represents the individual populations of provinces with distinct cultures, religions, and social classes, a more sophisticated economic and trade model, and a completely new military system where soldiers are drawn from your nation's population.
To manage the immense complexity, the game allows players to automate various aspects of their country, letting them focus on specific areas of interest, such as warfare, diplomacy, or economics. Europa Universalis V is set to be released on November 5, 2025, on PC.

Europa Universalis V Gameplay

Europa Universalis V's gameplay is a major evolution of its predecessors. It keeps the core grand strategy loop but adds a new "pop" system where a province's population has its own culture and religion. This population directly affects everything from military recruitment to the economy, making losing an army a much more impactful event.
The economic, trade, and military systems have also been redesigned to be more complex and realistic. The game introduces new automation features to help manage this complexity, allowing players to delegate tasks to AI advisors and focus on their preferred aspects of the game.
