Love and Deepspace’s Version 4.0 comes swooping in with a plethora of new features, gameplay mechanics, and even a new limited banner to pull from. Here are some of the highlights of 4.0 to get you started!
Witnessed By Deepspace, Version 4.0
The Wedding Banner Is Here
Love and Deepspace 4.0 has finally arrived, bringing in wedding bells, music, and merriment to the city of Linkon. With that said, let’s start off with the centerpiece of this whole update—the Witnessed By Deepspace 5-Star Limited Memory banner, and its wedding-themed event, [Before Sunset, After Vows].
The highly-anticipated wedding-themed banner shares the same title of the overall update, Witnessed by Deepspace. It’s a multi-banner or quint-banner that turns all five Love Interests (hereafter referred to simply as LI) into your lovely groom-to-be, with unique storylines and scenarios. It has a rather long runtime, starting from July 3, 5AM local time to July 22, 4:59AM local time.
Like the previous multibanners, players will be able to select 3 cards among the 5 Limited 5-Stars to increase their drop rate. The Precise Wish mechanics, which guarantees a Limited 5-Star Memory of one’s choice should they lose 50/50 to a Standard 5-Star Memory or a non-rated-up Limited 5-Star Memory, will also return.
Making a certain number of wishes on this banner will let players claim various rewards, such as the Universal Veil: Sunset Mist (25 Wishes), Memory Themed Outfit Selector (75, 125, 175, 225, 275 Wishes), [Witnessed by Deepspace] Limited 5-Star Selector (200 Wishes), and Deepspace Wishes x5 (50, 100, 150, 250 Wishes, for a total of 20).
Additionally, players will get a free Matching Couple Outfit From [Of Days and Forever] event. Obtaining any of the LI’s Limited 5-Star Memory and completing its Memoria (interactive storyline) will grant the player the matching Bespoke Wedding Dress Set, complete with Veil and Ring for free! Time to get those photoshoots ready, ladies and gentlemen.
Of Weddings and Vows
The gacha gods have given me their blessing this time around (finally…after a series of unfortunate banner pulls before) and I was able to snag Xavier and Caleb’s limited Memories without much issue—and it was all worth it. No spoilers here, but the Kindleds are as gorgeous as they looked in the teaser, and the Memoria story tied it all together. I can only speak for two of the Memory cards, but the lore of how the "wedding" scenes came to be delivered well on its premise. It was a lovely emotional rollercoaster, really tugging at the heartstrings. It’s not just about all the fluff and sweetness of the wedding theme—those who have delved even just a little bit into the lore will definitely connect with it on a deeper level, understanding why they were speaking on all these vows and promises.
And God, may I just say—Witnessed by Deepspace is officially my favorite Love and Deepspace track, trumping my earlier obsession with Spring and Flowers. It’s tailor-fit to the banner and its theme, so ethereal with Angela Zhang’s captivating voice. You’ll find yourself staring idly at the banner menu with the song playing while watching the previews of the Memories…amazing stuff.
New Event [Before Sunset, After Vows]
Of course, what’s a wedding without a ceremony? Plan out your picture perfect wedding with your chosen LI, hosted by the city of Linkon.
Spatial anomalies caused by fluctuations in the Deepspace Tunnel have scattered throughout the city, mirages that have taken on a physical form and are able to be interacted with. However, despite being strange phenomena, there are some that are stable, deemed harmless by the Hunters and have even become tourist attractions. The city of Linkon has decided to host a grand, romantic pledge event in one in hopes of bringing in citizens and tourists. Called the Midsummer Vows event, a team of skilled undercover Hunters has been deployed to ensure that the location does not go haywire while the event is being held. And you’re not only one of these undercover hunters—you’re also the ceremony planner.
Each LI will also have their own event-exclusive event story in Evermore Bond, each chapter past the prologue requiring an Invitation. To get Invitations, simply accomplish the limited-time event tasks on the main page to be rewarded one Invitation every time you acquire a certain number of Vowblooms (event currency).
The chapters are time-locked, and will be available for viewing after some time has passed. While the first chapters are still gated (as of writing), the prologues with each LI are surely heartwarming, funny even (especially Zayne’s).
There are several things to be prepared for the wedding ceremony. Jumping into Timeless Vowscape will allow you to decorate the venue with a variety of items, such as the wedding arch, a music player, and even a photo wall to display your memories with your LI. The rest of the venue is also currently time-locked, so that’s another thing to look forward to as the days go by.
As a volunteer event planner, you’re tasked with handling everything—even the party favors! Head on over to Heartsent Favor and create Dioramas and Blessing Stone Gift Boxes with your LI. You are in charge of making Dioramas with a simple swipe and tap, while your LI will automatically make the Blessing Stone Gift Box near you. Accomplish all the favor requests until time runs out! Completing the levels will net you Message Cards that serve as currency to buy more venue decor for Timeless Vowscape.
An added bonus are the Sign-In Rewards! Grab a total of 20 Deepspace Wishes (Limited Banner Wish Tickets), 1500 Diamonds, Celebratory Archway Snapshot Background, Soft Reverie Portrait Background, Dokidoki Signal Accessory, and the Witnessed by Deepspace BGM if you check into the event for 10 days.
New and Returning Gameplay Features
New Interactive Gameplay, Sleep Quality Time and AR Mode
Sleep Feature
Enjoy music, white noise, and the companionship of your chosen LI in this immersive new Quality Time activity. Choose his outfit, change up the view angle, adjust the bedroom lighting, pick out the perfect background music or ambient sounds, and head off to sleep with the 3D surround sound of his breathing and heartbeat. For the best experience, headphones are recommended. Please note that this feature can only be unlocked at Affinity Level 30 and above.
It’s an interesting addition to the Quality Time function, if you’re the type of person who may need some white noise to ease yourself to slumber. It was one of the highlights of the 4.0 livestream, and it surely delivered on its promises for an immersive experience.
While the camera view can be awkward at times (the overhead view is kind of hilarious), everything else makes up for it. The music, the random sleeptalking by the companion LI—it’s a nice Sleep feature alright.
Quality Time AR Mode
Bring your beloved LI to your world with the new AR Mode for Quality Time! Study, work, workout, or sleep, all with his company. Move and zoom the camera freely for the right angle, choose the lighting and music, making sure he’s right by your side throughout the whole thing. AR Mode for the respective type of Quality Time can only be unlocked after completing the standard version first.
I personally don’t have a use for it (for the AR version, anyway), but it works quite well! I was unable to test it to its full potential outside the confines of my home (hence the picture, I apologize), but the function itself works really well, allowing for customization from lighting and angle to even how he gazes at you through the screen.
I’d love to try it out in a fully-lit location, especially because it has real-time lighting that will adjust to wherever you are and the environment conditions.
Free Caleb 5-Star Memory [Yearly Nostalgia], Event [Heartfelt Gift]
Love and Deepspace’s newest LI receives his first free 5-Star Memory event, [Heartfelt Gift]. Simply log in for a total of 7 days starting July 12th to claim [Caleb: Yearly Nostalgia] for free, and checking in for the entire 15 day duration of the event will net you a total of 2000 Diamonds, 10 Empyrean Wishes (Standard Banner Wish Tickets), 5000 Chocolates, and 2000 Stamina.
Fully Customizable Journaling
The new custom Journal gameplay is immensely fun to play around with, with a massive spread of tools such as tape, brushes, text, borders, and more to create your own set of journal pages that showcase all your memories with your chosen LI. You can even put in snapshots of texts, special tidbits about him, and more.
There are also ready-made templates to use, for those who may not be as creatively inclined (like myself). Some talented players have even made the journal pages their personal drawing canvas, sketching amazing drawings with the in-game Brush tool!
Also, making journals and journal pages with the certain event-exclusive items anytime from July 3 to July 22 will also net you some fun rewards, like Energy Drinks and Ascension materials. A few treats for a little run down memory lane.
The Return of Illusio
Fan-favorite gameplay feature Illusio makes it comeback for the entire duration of the Witnessed by Deepspace event! Customize the LI’s outfits in Kindleds to your liking, adding a new personal flair to these heart-stopping, fully voiced, and animated cutscenes. I surely had a field day getting Xavier and Caleb to wear their mullet hairstyles on several Memories. You can make it the perfect moment you always wanted it to be, or make serious moments look more comedic with the random additions of goofy headwear and accessories. Anything goes—as long as you have the outfits and accessories, that is.
More Ways to Earn Diamonds With New Combat Gameplay
With the 4.0 version update, new combat gameplay with hefty rewards are brought into the fold. Tackle the new UNICORN Operation which brings you to the beautiful island of Tanakahli to investigate the happenings there, jump right into the new Fluctuant Orbit stages for that combat challenge, or train with the LI Companions to get a better feel of their skills.
New Gameplay Mode [UNICORN Operation], First Mission [Echo of Kahli]
Aether Cores are causing trouble across the world, and as a Hunter, you are tasked to head to Tanakahli and get to the bottom of the mysterious phenomenon of the wilting Kahli flowers, a potent medicine in Protocore Syndrome treatment.
A total of 12,930 Diamonds, 28 Empyrean Wishes, 1 Deepspace Wish, New Outfits, Accessories, Title, Desk Collectible, and Avatar Frame can be claimed in this mode once certain tasks have been completed. To unlock this gameplay mode, the player must be Level 45 and up, and must have completed Main Story [Under Deepspace] 4-13.
From the get-go, the story is engaging, and the gameplay a little more expanded on from the previous battle mode—UNICORN Operation is basically a beefed up version of Abyssal Chaos with a bit more mechanics. The banter between the MC and the chosen LI are fun to read as well, making it an overall fun experience of lore, combat, and tons of rewards.
New Deepspace Trials Open Orbit Stages [Fluctuant Orbit]
60 new stages have been added to the Deepspace Trials Open Orbit - Stable Orbit, bringing Stable Orbit levels to a maximum number of 300. Players will be rewarded with more Diamonds, Empyrean Wishes, New Outfits, Titles, and Accessories. To unlock Fluctuant Orbit, the player must have cleared Open Orbit and Stable Orbit up to Level 50.
Companion Training in the Training Room
Companion Training Mode brings in the Companion Drill and Endless Challenge, each with its own set of rewards.
Companion Drill allows players to test the waters with any Companion, even if they don’t currently own their Solar pair. Every first clear with any Companion will net the player 30 Diamonds, for a total of 330 Diamonds across all 11 current Companions. This may increase with every new 5-Star Companion introduced. Endless Challenge can only be played with owned Companions, and will reward the player with an Empyrean Wish once they are able to reach the target point.
For combat-oriented players, this may be a good way to see if a certain LI Companion fits your playstyle, or to simply see them in action even without owning them. At least here I own Lumiere Xavier…cue sad noises.

Secret Promise Features New Xavier and Zayne 4-Star Memories
This month’s Secret Promise (commonly known in other games as the Battle Pass) gets a new pair of Memories to attain! [Zayne: Morning Drift] and [Xavier: Nocturnal Hunt] are now available to acquire through the Promise provided that you have reached a certain level.
Aside from the 4-Star Memories, you will also receive the Minimalist Headphones Headwear Accessory, as well as Wish Tickets, Gold, level-up materials, Ascension materials, and more.
Shop Top-Up Bonus Refresh
Players who top-up will be pleased to know that the top-up bonus has been refreshed! Topping up Crystals will again provide an equal amount of Diamonds on the first purchase of any tier, starting July 3, 5AM.
The free 4-Star Memory Selector bonus when purchasing from the in-game shop (including Aurum Pass, Deepspace Vow pack, any Shop Pack, etc.) will also refresh, and now includes Sylus and Caleb 4-Stars [Sylus: Melodic Weave] and [Caleb: Summer’s Echo] in the lineup.
