Wildgate Gameplay
Gameplay Overview
Wildgate is a PvP multiplayer experience that fuses first-person shooter combat with tactical ship battles, offering three distinct modes:
Artifact Hunt (Main Mode)
20 players divided into 5 crews of 4 compete in a 60-minute match. To win, either be the last ship standing or escape with the Artifact through the Wildgate.
Versus AI
Team up with other players to take on AI-controlled crews.
Firing Range
Test and experiment with weapons, gadgets, ship devices, and resources at your own pace.
Prospectors
Players choose from a variety of roles known as Prospectors, each with unique classes, abilities, and specialties. Some of the current Prospectors include:
⚫︎ Venture – Explorer who doesn’t require oxygen and regenerates health faster
⚫︎ Sammo – Ship Defender
⚫︎ Sal – Engineer
⚫︎ Ion, Mophs, Adrian, and Kae – Boarders with distinct combat styles
Your crew can also choose from different ship classes like the Hunter, Bastion, Privateer, and Scout, each offering different tactical advantages.
Progress through Adventure Tracks and Chapters to unlock new loadouts, weapons, and gear. Whether you're blasting enemies with high-tech cannons, setting deadly traps, or sabotaging rival ships, no match plays the same thanks to The Reach—a hazardous, procedurally generated map that reshapes itself every session.
Wildgate Story Plot
You’re a Prospector—a treasure hunter on the edge of space, chasing fortune and glory in the lawless expanse of The Reach. Your ship isn’t just transport—it’s your lifeline, your shelter, your weapon. Keep it fueled, iced, and armed to the teeth, because out here, everything wants you dead.
From treacherous hazards to cutthroat rival crews, survival is a constant gamble. And at the center of it all? The Artifact—a mysterious prize worth killing for. Whether you're holding your ground or making a desperate dash for the Wildgate, only one crew makes it out with the loot. Make sure it’s yours.
