TRIBE NINE Gameplay

Features Real-Time Combat, Gacha, and Free-Roaming

TRIBE NINE is an Action RPG where players engage in real-time combat and dive into a world filled with mystery, set in a meticulously crafted world featuring a blend of 3D combat and 2D overworld exploration. Navigating Neo Tokyo will occasionally lead to combat encounters with a party of three. Combat typically involves you and your companions strategizing around enemies, aiding recovery, and executing coordinated attacks. Moreover, TRIBE NINE features a gacha system that will let you unlock characters or tension cards, effects which increase characters' damage output.

Each character in TRIBE NINE boasts different abilities, unique skills, and playstyles which can all be adapted to different team compositions, battle tactics, and strategies. Players can switch between different characters while exploring and battling. You can also complete "requests" from residents, hunt for treasure chests, as well as complete puzzles and other engaging mini-games to discover.

TRIBE NINE was a free-to-play game that had continuous content updates, along with in-app purchases previously available for Steam, iOS, and Android devices. It had since ended its service on November 27, 2025.

Gameplay Updates [October 2024]

Image

As of the launch of Deadly Demo in October 2024, various gameplay updates have been implemented in the game.

Gameplay Updates
Refined Battle Camera. The locking system and camera behavior have been overhauled to make fighting more intuitive.

Dash Action. This new dash action allows you to approach and retreat from enemies more swiftly, streamlining battle engagement and disengagement.

Evasive Actions. Using the new “Evasion Gauge,” evasive actions require a cooldown period before you can use them again. The Evasion Gauge has a maximum limit that varies by character. As long as you have gauge remaining, you can continue to execute evasive actions.

New Tension Cards and Effect Changes. A Tension Card effect lets a character consume more Evasion Gauge when performing an Attack Action to increase damage output.

Improved Game Progression. The structure of map exploration and events have been changed to amp up the difficulty of strategic planning and battles. The correct reactions to enemy attacks from the very first encounter are required. Moreover, Action Skill 2 will now be available from the start of the game.

Chain Skill Changes. Previously, chain skills required specific impairments to be executed between team members, which significantly limited team formation options. Now, in addition to impairments, chain skills can be executed with a certain probability when any impairment is activated.

Is TRIBE NINE Multiplayer?

No, TRIBE NINE is a single player game

You will control the protagonist, Yo, along with your party members as you navigate Neo Tokyo. Though TRIBE NINE has a gacha system confirmed to be under development, online multiplayer elements have not been announced.
