Time Takers Gameplay
Time Takers is a third-person player-versus-player (PvP) team-based battle royale and hero shooter. Matches center around not just taking out opposing opponents, but ensuring your survival by managing the resource called Time Energy. Each player is given a set amount of lifespan, which can be increased by collecting Time Energy from the field or by plundering it from enemies you defeat.
Time Takers features weapon and item loadout customization, allowing players to choose what best fits their hero’s playstyle. Weapons are chosen before the start of battle and cannot be shared between players, forcing teams to strategize their loadout and how to cover for each other’s weaknesses.
To cement this teamwork aspect in matches, Time Takers introduces the Link System. This system lets players who are within proximity automatically share and distribute the Time Energy they collect. Moreover, players can share their ‘lifespan’ with their teammates to save them in critical situations.
Moreover, each playable character has a unique active skill that can be used in conjunction with the player’s chosen weapon and items. While little is known about the heroes’ skills, the developers emphasized how important the players’ weapon and item loadouts are to customizing the playstyle of these skills.
Time Takers Story Plot
Time Takers pits heroes from across time and space to duke it out in a strange world. These fighters differ in factions and occupation, from a knight of the crusade, a witch, a chimpanzee in a space suit, a samurai of the empire, to neon-splattered war humanoids.
According to the knight’s story, he had been stabbed and reawakened along with the other rogues by a yet-to-be-revealed entity or faction. Persuaded by its promise to "fix their pasts", these Time Takers have no other choice but to do battle and survive in this unfamiliar world.
