STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT Gameplay
STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT will retain the original game’s visual novel format. Players will mainly read through in-game text and parse dialogue and the protagonist’s thoughts to experience the whole story. There will be decision points represented by the game’s "phone trigger" system in which players can choose to call other characters from the past or send and answer D-mails. These decision points will be the main deciding factors for the game’s branching paths.
It is still unknown whether this remake will introduce any additional gameplay mechanics.
STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT Story Plot

The original STEINS;GATE follows the story of Rintaro Okabe, a young 18-year-old man who has developed a microwave that can be controlled by a mobile phone along with his friends Itaru Hashida and Mayuri Shiina. Soon after attending a live conference on time travel, Okabe comes across the dead body of a researcher named Kurisu Makise. In the process of investigating the strange happenings of that day, Okabe figures out how to send text messages using his microwave oven to people from the past in order to alter the course of time up to the present day.
Players can look forward to more story content in STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT. They can also expect the return of STEINS;GATE’s branching paths and multiple endings in this reboot, but whether there will be significant changes to the original story remains to be seen.
