Star Wars: Galactic Racer Gameplay
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a podracing and speeder racing game set in the Star Wars universe. As pilots of The Galactic League, players will race through arid dunes, icy tundras, ruins, and even highly volatile lands against other players via online PvP. Star Wars fans will find some of these locations familiar, such as the desert planet of Jakku. There will also be new additions to the Star Wars universe. Namely, Sentinel One, a toxic wasteland of a planet that presents an additional challenge to racers.
Apart from avoiding obstacles and overtaking competitors, players can slam into other repulsorcrafts or speeders to take them out of the competition, adding an element of brutality and danger that is reminiscent of the Burnout series, which emphasized inflicting damage to other cars, heavily incentivizing destruction over conventional racing.
Galactic Racer will allow players to choose, customize, and even fully build their own vehicles according to their preferred playstyle. Though the whole roster of repulsorcrafts hasn't been revealed yet, Fuse Games has teased two kinds of speeders: landspeeders and speederbikes. And under these two categories are different kinds of vehicles seemingly tailor-made for even the most specific playstyle preferences.
For examplle, Skim speeders, which are categorically speederbikes, are reportedly repulsorcrafts that "reward flowing lines and maintaining momentum," a good fit for players who aren't afraid of tight corners and extreme bends.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer Story Plot
The story of Star Wars: Galactic Racer begins some time after the Empire has fallen, where the Outer Rim Territories have come alive with a new fixation: The Galactic League, a violent and chaotic underground racing circuit. Players will act as pilots sponsored by dangerous criminals and syndicates, entering high-stakes, no-holds-barred races for power and glory.
In the game's main campaign, players will take on the role of Shade, a mysterious racer who joins the The Galactic League in the pursuit of glory and revenge. Not much has been revealed about the character, but Fuse Games and Lucasfilm Games have confirmed that there will be more details to discover in the game's main story.
