Persona 3: Aegis The First Mission (or Aigis), is set ten years before the events of the main story of Persona 3. It’s mainly set at the Kirijo Ergonomics Institute on the island of Yakushima. Aegis, an Anti-Shadow weapon, was one day transported there to be experimented and further developed as a weapon, being made to participate in a series of ‘exercises.’ The exercises would consist of Aegis performing tasks while fending off modified shadows specifically made for training.
The exercises continue until an unprecedented shadow that wasn’t released by the facility shows up. Aegis, not knowing it wasn’t part of the exercise, fights the unusual shadow on a bridge, where it breaks during their battle, sending her down the river into the sea.
Aegis is then awakened by a boy by the name of Takashi Tomari. Aegis and Takashi have a lengthy conversation wherein they both seem to start catching feelings for each other. However, Aegis, being a robot, is puzzled and confused as she should not be able to feel these new emotions. Aegis heads back to the institute, unsure of her existence.
What are the Institute’s plans with Aegis? Will she discover her true purpose? Where are all of these mysterious shadows coming from? Aegis, together with her new ‘friend’ Takashi, seeks to find all the answers.

Persona 3: Aegis The First Mission is an action RPG that was made for mobile phones in 2007.
