Final Fantasy 9 Remake Gameplay
While there has been no news as to how the modern remake or remaster will play out, fans can assume for now that the game will retain its original JRPG gameplay, featuring elements of world exploration, turn-based combat with the Trance gauge system, item synthesis, and mini-games like Tetra Master and Chocobo Hot and Cold.
When not in combat, players will be advancing the story through speaking with NPCs and fulfilling certain quest scenarios that take them all around the planet of Gaia.
Final Fantasy 9 Remake Story Plot
Protagonist Zidane and the Tantalus Theatre Troupe have a mission to kidnap Princess Garnet of Alexandria—however, to their surprise, the princess willingly let herself get kidnapped as she yearned to escape the clutches of the castle and her mother, Queen Brahne, whose behavior has been becoming more strange and erratic. Alexandrian knight captain Steiner and young black mage Vivi are also roped into their escape to Lindblum, the technologically advanced city headed by Garnet’s uncle, Cid Fabool IX. What was initially a peaceful reunion and escape suddenly turns sour as the party finds out what the Alexandrian queen has been doing behind the scenes…
Through a series of trials and tribulations, Zidane and Garnet encounter other people along the way, learning more about themselves, the world of Gaia, and the mysterious malevolent force that threatens to destroy the planet.
