FATAL FRAME 2: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE Gameplay

Gameplay primarily revolves around exploring a haunted village to find a way out while confronting vengeful ghosts, solving puzzles, and managing limited resources. Players control Mio Amakura, armed with the Camera Obscura, a weapon that fends off hostile spirits using special exorcising film and lenses.
The game is mostly played from a third-person perspective, switching to first-person only during combat with the Camera Obscura. Combat has been reworked, introducing new focus and zoom filters that alter player perspective during encounters. Additionally, a new hand-holding mechanic emphasizes the bond between the twin protagonists.

FATAL FRAME 2: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE follows the story of twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura, as they make their way through the haunted settlement of Minakami Village (also known as All Gods Village) after being inexplicably trapped within its confines.
Led astray by a mysterious crimson butterfly, Mio and Mayu must explore the abandoned town to find a way to escape while also fending off the vengeful and hostile spirits who seem strangely drawn to them. As they delve into the village’s history and discover more about the horrific incident that wiped the village off the map, they find themselves a lot more entwined with its past, much more than they ever expected.
