Denshattack! Gameplay
The gameplay of Denshattack! centers on a high-speed train performing over-the-top stunts across a dystopian version of Japan. Combining elements of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and SEGA’s classic Jet Set Radio series, players execute skateboarding-style moves while traversing vibrant, stylized levels.
While Denshattack! doesn’t follow a traditional action structure, its core loop focuses on racking up points through trick combos like ollies, kickflips, and grinds. Similar to Sword of the Sea, major levels also feature boss battles that test players’ timing, precision, and mastery of the train’s movement mechanics.
Denshattack! Story Plot
Denshattack! blends familiar shonen-inspired tropes into its narrative, featuring colorful characters driven by friendship and determination. A rebellious group known as the Denshattacks! seeks to restore hope to a ruined Japanese city after a massive climate collapse and the oppressive rule of the Miraido Corporation. They reclaim abandoned railways, transforming them into playgrounds where daredevils perform extreme tricks with their vehicles, using their stunts as both a form of self-expression and a political statement against their oppressors.
Along the way, players encounter a ragtag group of outcasts who become allies, working together to ultimately challenge the corporation responsible for the city’s downfall.
