Control Resonant Gameplay
Control: Resonant features exploration of the expansive, open-ended zones of a paranaturally warped Manhattan, tackling branching missions and unearthing secrets about the crisis. Players take the role of Dylan Faden, brother of the original Control game protagonist, Jesse Faden.
They must navigate this hostile environment using a deep RPG progression system to evolve their powers and customize their approach. The gameplay centers around dynamic, aggressive combat defined by the Aberrant, a shapeshifting melee Object of Power that transforms into various weapons like hammers and dual blades, which must be combined with Dylan's unique and volatile psychic abilities.
The main challenges will involve combating a variety of otherworldly enemies across the city and navigating surreal, reality-bending set pieces—all requiring players to master the fast, physical combat system to survive the spiraling chaos.
Control Resonant Story Plot
Control: Resonant takes place seven years after the events of the first game and shifts the narrative focus to Dylan Faden, the brother of the previous protagonist, Jesse, who has awakened from his coma to find the world in crisis. The main premise sees the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) deploying Dylan to a quarantined Manhattan, which has become the epicenter of a new, world-ending threat that is violently warping the city's architecture and reality itself.
Dylan's objective is to contain this new entity, but his personal quest is fueled by a search for the now-missing Jesse and a struggle to understand and control his own immense, volatile psychic connection to the chaos consuming the city. The story promises a morally complex narrative centered on redemption, legacy, and the difficult choices Dylan must make as the new reluctant hero.
