Bubsy 4D Gameplay
Players will take control of Bubsy to navigate through the game’s countless levels with various platforming sections. He can jump, glide, claw up walls, and pounce off enemies. By collecting more yarn and blueprints hidden in levels, Bubsy can also unlock moves and upgrades.
Some of the revealed upgrades include being able to indefinitely stick to walls, an extra life before resetting to your last checkpoint, a buffer period before falling (coyote time), and teleporting between activated checkpoints. Bubsy can also chain different movements together, akin to other 3D platforming titles like Mario Odyssey.
Bubsy can also puff up into a hairball form, which can roll at high speeds. In this form, the bobcat’s extra fluff makes it possible for him to bounce around as well.
By collecting yarn, Bubsy can also unlock a variety of costumes and outfits, like different jacket designs. Notably, his low-poly look from the 1996 Bubsy 3D is also available in the game, a fact that he himself doesn’t seem too thrilled about.
Bubsy 4D Story Plot
In Bubsy 4D, the fleece-obsessed Woolies have gone and stolen every sheep on Earth. Bubsy, though initially indifferent, was forced to make a move when those kidnapped sheep returned as deadly cybernetic-enhanced cyborgs called BaaBots, with the task of stealing his treasure: The Golden Fleece.
Armed with nothing but his claws, tail, fur, and his motley crew of acquaintances, Bubsy sets out on an intergalactic adventure to stop the BaaBots’ relentless destruction and reclaim his Fleece.
