Ratata Arts finally launched Ratatan in Early Access on September 19, 2025 at 12:00 A.M. JST. For those in other time zones, this translates to September 18, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. ET / 8:00 A.M. PT.
This new release date followed an indefinite delay announced by Ratata Arts on July 4, 2025. Originally, the game was scheduled to be released in Early Access on July 25, an announcement that was made during the Day of the Devs at Summer Game Fest 2025. The Studio cited "overwhelming feedback" from the game’s demo as the reason for the delay.
Previously, Ratatan's Kickstarter campaign had indicated an April 2025 delivery date. Ratata Arts clarified in an April 2025 Kickstarter update that it was merely "an estimate of when [the devs] expected to deliver rewards to [their] backers." Although an official launch date or window hasn't been announced, the game is planned for release on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.

A demo for Ratatan was released on June 5, 2025, at 8:00 A.M. ET / 5:00 A.M. PT on Steam. According to the developers, the demo features Worlds 1 and 2 as playable levels, includes 4 different selectable Ratatans, and offers online multiplayer support.

Ratatan will finally be released in Early Access on September 19, 2025, after a delay of more than a month.
