Announcement History

Square Enix launched the official Final Fantasy 9 25th Anniversary page on the Japanese Square Enix website, writing that "We are preparing various projects, including merchandise and collaborations to commemorate the 25th anniversary, so please look forward to it!" This has further fueled speculation that a remake or a remaster may be coming real soon.
