Temtem Patch 1.3 Featured Highlights
Challenge Modes: Nuzlocke, Randomlocke, and Speedrun
The latest Temtem patch, Patch 1.3, includes new challenge modes that add a layer of difficulty for players who enjoy extreme limitations and randomness. The game is typically set to Hard Mode, but the game has become even more complex with the introduction of Nuzlocke, Randomlocke, and Speedrun modes. The Nuzlocke and Randomlocke modes were highly requested by fans and are now available.
The Nuzlocke mode has strict rules that limit players to only catch the first two Temtem they encounter on each route and any Temtem that faint during the adventure must be released. Randomlocke mode is even more chaotic, with everything except Temtem species, traits, and gears being randomized. These new challenge modes are designed to provide players with a more fulfilling and challenging gaming experience.
Speedrun Mode
The latest Temtem update includes a new challenge mode where players must complete the game as quickly as possible. There are timers for each island and a general timer visible at all times, and players who beat the goal will receive rewards in their main save slot.
This mode is designed to provide players with a more intense gameplay experience, and the developers believe that players will enjoy the challenge.
New Feature: Nanto Labs and Luma Drops Currency
The update also introduces a new feature called Nanto Labs, which appears to be a store rather than a lab. Players are now allowed to convert their Lumas into Luma Drops, a new form of currency. The amount of Luma Drops received depends on the Temtem species and whether or not the player is soulbound to them.
However, there is no fixed exchange rate from Lumas to Luma Drops, leaving players needing to figure out how many Lumas they must sacrifice to obtain the desired amount of Luma Drops. This lack of clarity has caused some confusion among players, who feel that a fixed rate would have been a more straightforward approach.
Despite this, players can only exchange their Lumas for Luma Drops at Nanto Labs, a new area in the game. The Devs intentionally designed Nanto Labs to feel sketchy as merchants have a monopoly on this market and can change the price whenever they feel like it. Sounds like you got yourself an in-game Black Market.
Additionally, Nanto Labs offers rare items not available before, such as special dyes and TemCardX, which may entice players to exchange their Lumas even with the uncertainty surrounding the exchange process.
Temtem Game Overview
A Challenger for Pokemon
Temtem and Pokemon are both games that share similar gameplay mechanics, intending to collect and battle creatures. However, Temtem has several features that set it apart from the Pokemon franchise.
One of the key differences is that Temtem features real-time battles, whereas Pokemon has traditionally used a turn-based battle system. This adds a layer of excitement and urgency to matches in Temtem, as players must think and react quickly to come out on top.
Another difference is that Temtem places a strong emphasis on cooperative play. The game's online world allows players to team up with friends and explore, battling other players and working together to complete quests and challenges.
In terms of world-building, Temtem offers a vast open-world environment that players can explore at their own pace. This is a departure from many Pokemon games' more linear, story-driven approach, although that has been changing in recent years. Temtem offers advanced character customization options and housing, allowing players to make their avatars their own.
While both Temtem and Pokemon are beloved by fans of the creature-collecting genre, Temtem's unique features and online focus have helped it carve out a niche in the market. The game is available on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox, giving players plenty of options for where to experience it.
