Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Features

Mystery-Solving Puzzles and Deduction

To complete the investigation in this detective thriller game, the players must collect clues they can then piece together.

In the gameplay, Sherlock Holmes will be using his deduction skills throughout the game to put together facts logically, which helped players make sense of the events they experienced. This is a novel feature that adds to the game's appeal.

Mind Palace Re-enactment

Of course, in detective games, the players would search the environment for hints.

Fortunately, Sherlock Holmes has an excellent eye for detail and an instinct for how clues might be put together. The crime scene can be recreated using his Mind Palace so the players can see how each clue relates to their case.

Like all previous Sherlock Holmes games developed by Frogwares, Sherlock can do it in this one, as seen in the trailers.

No-Hand-Holding Approach

Image

Like the previous Frogwares Sherlock Holmes games, this game has a No Hand Holding approach. This implies that the designers purposefully refrain from giving players very detailed or explicit instructions, preferring to let them explore and discover things independently.

This makes sense in the context of The Awakened because the game's appeal lies in its challenge, which calls for players to exercise critical thinking and make judgments based on their observations and experiences. As Sherlock Holmes, the players must use their wits, the available clues, and the testimonies of those around them to figure out how to solve the case.
