Battle 2042 Patch 4.2.0 Update
Map Rework and Quality of Life Improvement

Battlefield 2042 is getting a significant update focusing on improving players' gameplay experience. The update includes a substantial rework of the Discarded map, which aims to make the infantry gameplay more enjoyable and accessible. The Discarded Map is set in an abandoned junkyard, with tight spaces and vertical terrain that provide a unique combat experience.
Discarded Map Rework

The Salvage Yard has been added to the northwest side of the map, providing car wrecks as cover opportunities for soldiers to outsmart heavy vehicles. There are also destructible houses on the outskirts of the flag that can serve as vantage points. Additionally, a flag has been brought closer to the Flooded Village, linking the north area of the map with the beach. Rows of military cover have also been added to the frontlines of this flag.
Moreover, the core of the flag has received improvements with military cover, allowing the infantry to push forward with less difficulty. The map has also undergone several layout improvements by populating the combat space with different structures.
Finally, part of the side of the hull facing the Colossus has been closed off to limit frequent sniping from the ship's deck into this flag.
Quality of Life Improvements

The collection and customization system in the game has also received several improvements, including removing weapon attachments from weapons within the collections screen.
Players can now quickly and easily modify their guns without entering a separate menu. Additionally, the end-of-round statistics screen now showcases a new personal best statistic highlighting a player's best performance in a particular area during the match. This feature can help players track their progress and identify improvement areas.
The list of specialist mastery has been expanded to include tracking assistance kills as well. This implies that players will gain credit for assists when working towards mastery awards. Finally, the uniform soldier aiming feature in the game is now set to On
by default. This feature contributes to the consistency of aiming mechanics across all weapons and attachments, making it easier for players to aim and fire properly.
