Witchbrook Development Updates
Delayed to 2026

Witchbrook, the upcoming Stardew Valley-like magical life simulation title, has been delayed to 2026. In a recent blog post by developer Chucklefish on its official website on October 15, they announced that the initial release of Winter 2025 will be shifted to next year.
According to Chucklefish, Witchbrook is a big project that is full of charm, depth, and detail, which is why they wanted to guarantee the game’s quality. They stated, "We’re taking the time needed to ensure the world feels rich, immersive, and alive."

The game is often described as a mixture of Stardew Valley and Harry Potter, with its immersive world and spellbinding themes. It focuses mainly on its "cozy" elements, where players must navigate their lives as an aspiring witch or wizard –from engaging in their magical studies to exploring the world and helping people with witchcraft.
Chucklefish has yet to announce a specific release date or window for Witchbrook, but will continue to deliver development updates. There will also be an upcoming blog dedicated to explaining the game’s character customization that is due in a few weeks.
New Map of Mossport

Alongside the delay announcement, the developers also gave an update on Witchbrook’s gameworld. They introduced Mossport, a town filled with "spellbinding stories, captivating quests, and enchanting systems."
Included in the blog post is an interactive map where viewers can discover the whole map of Mossport. From the peaceful green trails of Shadhollow Forest to the golden beaches of Parasol Sands, players can freely traverse and discover the wonders of the land.
The main highlight of it all is Witchbrook College, home to a lively community of young witches. Players will explore the hallways of the campus, going through different classes, and take one step closer to becoming bona fide witches or wizards.

While most parts of the map are filled with buildings and structures, there are still some areas that are yet to be developed. Chucklefish also noted that they will announce additional platforms and language support aside from the ones they already have.
Witchbrook is set to be released sometime in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below.
