Umamusume Fundraising Campaign For Real-Life Horse Meisho Doto
Over $700,000 Donations

Umamusume: Pretty Derby fans have raised over $700,000 in donations for the renovation of the farm that houses the real-life horse counterpart of Meisho Doto. According to the Japanese crowdfunding platform READYFOR, the project has garnered over ¥116,518,000 (approx. $739,829) from nearly 10,000 supporters to date.
Proceeds from the campaign will be used to restore the declining condition of the horsestables at Northern Lake Farm in Hokkaido, Japan. Aside from Meisho Doto, the ranch is known for housing retired legendary race horses, including the late Taiki Shuttle, who is also featured in Umamusume..

Originally referred to as "The Old Stable," the stead was first built in 1974 and functioned as a breeding facility. The structure then ceased operations and was abandoned, until it was reopened in July 2020 under its current name, the Northern Lake Farm.
With over 50 years standing, the representatives of the farm sought help through the crowdfunding website to "create an environment where retired horses can live naturally with peace of mind." "We look forward to taking this first step in Northern Lake’s history together with everyone who cherishes our horses and supports our mission," the crowdfunding page reads.
Northern Lake Farm Thanks Fans For Their Support
After reaching the donation milestone, a representative from the farm took to Twitter (X) on December 17 to show their appreciation for those who supported their cause. They reminded fans that the crowdfunding campaign runs only until today.
The representative also noted that if the initiative reaches over ¥100M, the farm will purchase a treadmill for the horses. Since the campaign has reached this milestone, the ranch can now procure this machine, which will greatly benefit the steed’s health and condition.

The hit horse-training mobile title continues to spread its reach beyond the game itself, helping the real-life horse counterparts of their characters to have a better life. With their recent The Game Awards 2025 victory for Best Mobile Game, Umamusume looks to push this initiative further and recognize the past accomplishments and legend of these steeds.
