Zelda Takes Center Stage on September 26, 2024
A new Legend of Zelda game has been announced in the June 2024 Nintendo Direct and—just like the title says—Zelda’s finally the protagonist of her own legend. Titled "The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom," this latest installment of the beloved franchise features Princess Zelda and a mysterious fairy named Tri on a quest to save Hyrule from encroaching rifts.
With the legendary hero Link among the many Hyrulians claimed by the rifts, it's up to Zelda to wield the Tri Rod and its unique Echo ability. This powerful artifact allows her to recall objects and enemies to overcome obstacles. Zelda can summon the form of inanimate objects to create new platforms and pathways, recall special blocks like water blocks to swim through the air, and call forth echoes of stones and weaponry to battle monsters. She can even summon the echoes of defeated foes to fight alongside her.
The entirety of Hyrule is at Zelda’s disposal, and it will take all of her wisdom and cunning to navigate this new adventure. Get ready to experience Hyrule like never before with Princess Zelda at the helm!
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be available for the Nintendo Switch on September 26, 2024. Pre-orders are currently unavailable and the game is yet to receive a dedicated store page on the Nintendo eShop, but we’ll update this article with new information as it comes out.
Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition Also Coming on September 26, 2024
Launching alongside The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is the Nintendo Switch Lite "Hyrule Edition," a special Nintendo Switch Lite system inspired by the Legend of Zelda franchise. Apart from a gold-colored body, the Switch Lite Hyrule Edition is emblazoned with a stylized Triforce symbol at the back.
An official price for the Switch Lite Hyrule Edition is yet to be announced, but we’ll update this article with new information as it comes out.
