Super Mario RPG Remake continues celebrating its upcoming release date with more easter eggs. Read on to learn where to access these rewards and what you need to do.
Super Mario RPG Exclusive Wallpapers on Japanese Website
Short Minigame Required
With Super Mario RPG Remake’s release date approaching, Nintendo is sparing no effort in engaging their players with a plethora of easter eggs. For example, in the United Kingdom, a treasure hunt minigame was held where you could win high-resolution wallpapers for both the PC and mobile.
This time, Nintendo is holding its own minigame for its JP audience. All players must do is find the floating cloud at the bottom of Super Mario RPG’s JP website. Upon clicking on it, players simply need to follow the instructions stated by the website (spoiler: enter ↓↑→←LRLRB on the text box) for the page to refresh.
Upon scrolling down even further, players will find that an additional section of the website will become available: a notification that you’ve unlocked wallpapers for Super Mario RPG Remake.
These wallpapers can only be viewed by logging into your Nintendo account. And unlike the treasure hunt minigame held on Nintendo UK’s website, only two kinds of wallpapers are awarded to players here. But, on the bright side, it should work on any type of Nintendo account, regardless of region.
However, you would need to navigate through the Japanese website regardless.
Each wallpaper comes with a mobile and PC variant. Or rather, there’s a horizontal and vertical version for each, which makes them usable even for those running vertical monitor setups.
Super Mario RPG is releasing exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on November 17, 2023. Pre-orders for the digital version are available on the Nintendo eShop for $59.99.
