A New Multiplayer Hub
Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition launches on March 26, with Nintendo sharing new details on expanded multiplayer features, playable characters, and gameplay additions on January 22.
Nintendo’s latest update introduces Bellabel Park, a newly discovered area within the Flower Kingdom, where players can meet up with friends and take part in various multiplayer attractions or mini-games. The Park is centered around Attraction Central, which serves as the main hub for its multiplayer activities. This is split into two large plazas, each designed around different ways to play with each other.
The Local Multiplayer Plaza lets players choose from 17 attractions that support both versus and co-op play for up to four players on a single system. GameShare is also supported, allowing one player who owns the game to share it locally with others who do not. A Switch 2 system, however, must initiate the session.

For players using separate systems, the Game Room Plaza supports local wireless or online play. Up to eight players can compete locally, or up to 12 players online across six different attractions.
Bellabel Park also includes Camp Central, home to the Toad Brigade Training Camp. This area lets players take on training challenges set within courses from the main game. Up to four players can join in a single system to clear objectives together. As players progress, more training courses become available, and completing enough challenges raises their rank and become an "Elite Explorer".
More Ways to Play, For All Skill Levels

The new edition expands its playable roster with the addition of Rosalina, who joins the lineup with the same abilities as Mario and the rest of the cast. When playing with two or more players, Co-Star Luma can also be selected as an assist character, able to spin to defeat enemies and collect coins while not taking damage. Luma can be controlled using mouse controls, "making for a more intuitive experience, so even players less familiar with standard controls can enjoy the adventure."
Accessibility is further supported through Assist Mode, a feature that has appeared in several other Mario titles such as Super Mario Odyssey and the Super Mario Galaxy 1+2. Assist Mode prevents players from taking damage regardless of the character they choose, and automatically saves them with a Propeller Flower if they fall during a stage.
New Powers, Returning Bosses, and Collectibles

Gameplay additions include the Super Flower Pot power-up, which allows characters to transform into a flower form and create rising flower platforms during stages.
Nintendo also confirmed the return of the Koopalings, who have stolen Bellabel Flowers and fled to different worlds across the Flower Kingdom. Players will rely on eyewitness reports to track them down as they progress, with each Koopaling transforming into different forms when confronted in battle.

Rounding out the update, Nintendo confirmed support for three new amiibo in the Switch 2 Edition, including Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and Captain Toad & the Talking Flower. While Nintendo has not yet detailed the specific features tied to these new figures, previous amiibo support in the base game was limited to small in-game bonuses or conveniences.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is currently available on Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park will be available on March 26.
