Splatoon Raiders, a new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, was teased alongside Splatoon 3’s v10.00 update! Read on to learn more about Splatoon Raiders’ cast of characters, Splatoon 3’s Splatlands Collection, and the return of the Urchin Underpass.
Splatoon Raiders Exclusive For Nintendo Switch 2
Splatoon, known for its distinctive twist on the third-person shooter genre, returns with a new exclusive spin-off—Splatoon Raiders—for the Nintendo Switch 2. Similar to the mainline series, Splatoon Raiders is expected to further build upon its ink-centric artillery while maintaining Splatoon's youth-centric themes.
According to the findings of Nintendo’s "Squid Research Lab," players will take on the role of a mechanic and "go off on an adventure at the mysterious Spirhalite Islands." Joining you on this journey is Deep Cut, the trio from Splatoon 3’s Anarchy Splatcast! Deep Cut features recurring characters Shiver, Frye, and Big Man, who are implied to play more prominent roles in Splatoon Raider’s plot.

In addition, the teaser introduces a mystery regarding a vortex that caused the main crew's helicopter crash. It also shows the mechanic equipping themselves with a host of make-shift tools and weaponry to explore the terrain. This suggests the potential incorporation of new single player survival-crafting oriented mechanics and action-adventure elements, as opposed to the fast-paced type of play that fans are more familiar with. However, not much about Splatoon Raiders has been confirmed thus far.
Splatoon Raiders is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Although a release date is yet to be determined, you can stay up to date with the latest information about the game by checking out our article below!
Splatoon 3 Update Features Splatlands Collection, Urchin Underpass, and Series Weapon Power

Alongside Splatoon Raiders was the announcement of Splatoon 3's upcoming v10.00 update on June 12, 2025. This update includes the Splatlands Collection, which comprises 30 new weapon kits from the Barazushi and Emberz brands; the return of the original Splatoon's Urchin Underpass—a Wii U stage; together with increased weapon freshness caps, new badges, and a "Series Weapon Power" metric.

According to Nintendo "Series Weapon Power" will be a new stat incorporated into Splatoon 3's Anarchy Battle Series, a multiplayer online game mode in which four-person teams engage in an ink-based turf war. It will track a player’s weapon effectiveness based on their win/loss ratio in battles, allowing more balanced matchmaking between our fellow Inklings and Octolings. Finally, the recent trailer for Splatoon 3's update has confirmed crossplay compatibility on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
