NIS America Brings Reynatis to the West this Year
Releases Fall 2024 for Switch, PC, PS4, and PS5
As confirmed by NIS America, Reynatis will be released in the West (North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand) some time in Fall 2024 for the PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The announcement marked the game's PC debut, in addition to its console releases.
There were no announcements for an Xbox release, though fans have already called for the game to be ported to the console. Reynatis was announced as part of the lineup of games coming to Switch during last week’s Japanese Nintendo Direct. Players can expect support for Japanese audio with English text (no dubs, just subs).
Originally scheduled for release in Japan on July 25, 2024, Reynatis garnered attention for its resemblance to games such as Final Fantasy and Crystar and its distinctive dark, cyberpunk aesthetics. Reynatis immerses players in the vibrant streets of Shibuya, where supernatural forces and magic shape the landscape.
The game follows two main protagonists, Marin Kirizumi, a wizard who seeks freedom from oppression through unstoppable power, and Sari Nishijima, an enforcement officer who uses her magic to establish order within the city. Overall, Reynatis will have six playable characters, each with their own set of abilities
Reynatis boasts dynamic combat mechanics, featuring flashy moves and real-time battles. The game highlights its two unique gameplay modes, Suppression Mode and Liberation Mode, that allow players to adapt their strategies seamlessly.
Players will also explore the Dominus Forest, a somber dimension teeming with formidable enemies, in search of Dominus—the enigmatic administrator of magic whom Marin must meet to carry out his goals.
