Producer Masato Kumazawa likened the return to “rice left forgotten in a rice cooker”—unpleasant, yet too tempting not to uncover. He also called it the most fitting setting for the franchise’s upcoming 30th anniversary, with Capcom teasing it as the “requiem that finally lays the memories of that abhorrent disaster to rest.”
