Ratatan Early Access Release Delayed
Critical Demo Feedback is The Reason For the Delay

Ratatan announced in a Steam blog post on July 4 that its Early Access release will be delayed following the critical feedback it received from fans for its demo. It was originally planned to launch on July 25, but the launch has been postponed until further notice.
Developer Rata Arts revealed that the demo has been downloaded 200,000 times and received over 1,200 Steam reviews with 2,000 pieces of feedback. Unfortunately, the developers stated that they do not have enough time to address them, which is the ultimate reason for the delay.
According to them, the feedback includes the following: unsatisfying roguelike structure and reward pacing, some Ratatans not using their skills, lack of impact in visuals and presentation, and improvements to content structure, pacing, and mid-term gameplay flow.

Although Ratatan is a spiritual successor to the hit rhythm game Patapon, and also developed by its creator, Hiroyuki Kotani, Rata Arts emphasized that it is not the same game. "In addition to that, Ratatan is not Patapon—it's an indie game aiming to deliver a completely new experience—so there will naturally be some differences in direction," they stated.
Here at Game8, we saw Ratatan’s uncanny resemblance to Patapon as something that feels instinctively familiar, yet still somehow new. With Patapon’s creator at the helm and anticipation from faithful fans, Ratatan exudes a palpable energy that feels like it’s recreating the old magic Patapon had, but remixing it into something wilder. Ensuring Kickstart Backers Get Rewarded

As for those who supported Ratatan via Kickstarter, the developers promise to deliver more rewards amidst the Early Access release delay. Rata Arts noted, "As we move forward with the Early Access launch, we are working to ensure that our Kickstarter backers are treated fairly and appropriately."
They plan to allow backers to enjoy the Early Access version, give more rewards to those who chose the console version, and provide additional support overall. Further details will be shared in a future update, and the developers sincerely apologize for the extended wait.
Ratatan is set to release on PC via Steam, and is also planned to launch on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
