Palworld Becomes One of Most Played Games
Palworld surpassed 2 million concurrent players on Steam, according to SteamDB. The game secured the second spot for the highest concurrent player count on Steam of all time, just behind the battle royale FPS PUBG. Alongside this, Palworld announced the sale of over 7 million copies.
Video game journalist Geoff Keighley reported that the 7 million sales numbers are on Steam alone, not including Xbox sales and Game Pass. The reported revenue from Steam sales amount to $189 million USD.

Palworld rose to fame in meteoric fashion. Within just three days of its early access release, Palworld managed to sell over 4 million copies. Over its launch weekend, it attracted almost 1.3 million players. These numbers surpassed those of notable titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, The Game Awards’ 2023 GOTY Baldur’s Gate 3, and Warner Bros' best-selling game Hogwarts Legacy, all within a single day.
Palworld Steam Sale until January 25, 10 pm PT
Coupled with the milestone, Palworld announced a Steam launch sale. "The most played Steam game in the world right now #Palworld," Palworld wrote on Twitter (X). The game will be on sale at 10% off until January 25, 10 pm PT / January 26, 1 am ET / January 26, 6 am GMT.
Palworld PvP Announced in Roadmap
Palworld shared an Early Access Roadmap outlining planned fixes and future updates. Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe previously talked about the potential addition of a PvP mode, while acknowledging the challenges such an endeavor might pose. Palworld confirmed the PvP addition in its roadmap announcement and briefly detailed its plans. It looks like players can look forward to an arena-style PvP, along with new bosses and Pals to come.
