Palworld is Costing Millions of Yen to Maintain
Pocketpair CEO and Network Engineer Speak Out
On Twitter (X), Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe disclosed that the company faces a monthly bill of 70 million yen to maintain Palworld servers. Mizobe jokingly remarked in the post's caption, "Wait, maybe we'll go bankrupt from server fees?"
Palworld network engineer, Chujo Hiroto, responded to Mizobe's post in English stating that they were ordered to “never let the service go down no matter what” for them to “ensure that all players can enjoy to the fullest!”
"Following the directive to ensure uninterrupted service, we've spared no expense in setting up servers. We are committed to providing an optimal gaming experience for all players! $478,000 and counting…" read Hiroto’s tweet.
Palworld did not mention how this could affect the company overall, however, the game will seemingly not expect its player base to dwindle anytime soon. Pocket Pair recently announced that Palworld has garnered 19 million players on Steam and Xbox within two weeks of its release, as well as maintaining its position as the top-selling game on Steam.
