In honor of the annual celebration of the Super Mario Franchise, titled "MAR10 Day," which falls on March 10, Nintendo has announced a series of promotions throughout the month. Among these offerings is an extended Nintendo Switch Online 14-Day Free Trial Membership, usually available for 7 days, accessible from now until March 17.
Below is a rundown of the promotions available to commemorate all things Mario.
Play Super Mario World and Get Rewards
● Nintendo Switch Online users can earn 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points by playing Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Switch Online.
● These points can be redeemed for classic Mario icon elements and the offer is available until April 1 at 6 p.m. PT.
Discount on Mario Games in the Nintendo eShop and Canadian Retailers
● Selected games spanning the Mario series will be discounted on the Nintendo eShop, while selected Canadian retailers will also offer discounts.
● Further details regarding these discounts will be announced on March 7, 2024.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Open March 2024 Tournament
● On March 10, Nintendo is holding a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament from noon to 6 p.m. Pacific Time, with the top 310 players receiving 1K My Nintendo Gold points.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie Digital Guidebook
● Fans can download a free The Super Mario Bros. Movie digital guidebook of the movie that showcases "all the secrets and Easter eggs" in the movie, however, a free Nintendo Account is required to download this.
MAR10 Day at Nintendo New York
● On March 10, Mario fans can "jump into the Nintendo New York store for a meet-and-greet with Mario, the chance to challenge our ambassadors on the Nintendo Switch system, free MAR10 Day giveaways, and more."
GameStop In-Store Demo and Giveaways
● On March 16 from "noon to 4 pm local time," Nintendo fans can go to participating GameStop locations for free in-store demos of games "featuring Mario and friends, plus Mario-themed giveaways (while supplies last)!"
My Nintendo Sweepstakes (US Residents Only)
● Starting today until April 16, Mario fans can enter the My Nintendo LEGO® Super Mario™ Sweepstakes for a chance to win a "trio of spectacular sets featuring Mushroom Kingdom favorites like Yoshi, Bowser, and more."
● Starting today until April 23, enter the My Nintendo™ BlackMilk X Super Mario™ – Princess Peach Sweepstakes for a chance to win "an outfit inspired by Princess Peach."
Lego Super Mario Announcement for Mario Day
Lego has recently unveiled a new announcement trailer hinting at an upcoming collaboration with Nintendo to commemorate Mario Day. Titled "Something is coming," the video teases a "Lego Super Mario Day Stream" as the host of the video welcomes fans to the supposed stream.
As the video progresses, unidentified sounds can be heard, followed by the host's cryptic remark, "How did they get here?" before the video abruptly ends. The video description urges viewers to mark their calendars for March 9, as an "exciting Lego Super Mario event" on Mario Day is coming, and "it seems like something more is on the way…" Stay tuned for more updates on Mar10 Day.
