Lies of P: Overture is Too Difficult for Most Players
Fan Feedback and Complaints

Lies of P DLC Overture was shadow-dropped during the Summer Game Fest 2025, much to everyone’s surprise and excitement. Despite its successful release as indicated by its "Mostly Positive" reviews on Steam, the game was overwhelmed with complaints, particularly regarding its difficulty.
Being a Soulslike game, Lies of P is known for its high difficulty, emphasis on player skill, and challenging boss fights. However, Game Director Jiwon Choi told VGC on May 21 that the game’s expansion will include difficulty options to make it more accessible to everyone. "We wanted to make sure a wider audience of players could play the game," he explained.

Although this is the case, fans who have experienced the DLC first-hand deemed the game too hard even at the lowest difficulty, especially with most enemies that one-shot players. Over on Lies of P’s Reddit, the thread for fan feedback was flooded with complaints about difficulty, so much so that the moderators decided to create a separate megathread for concerns specifically about it.
A lot of players think that there should be major adjustments to player damage, boss health, and the overall difficulty of the DLC. One user said that they felt that their weapon didn’t do much damage, and that mobs can easily two-shot them. Another said that the base game was pretty much perfect, but the devs overdid it in the DLC with noticeable stat changes on bosses, despite having the game set on lower difficulties.
The megathread continues to receive comments on fans’ experiences with the DLC. Even though there are players who are enjoying Lies of P’s new content, the glaring changes affected a major part of the community, and they wish for the developers to address their complaints.

Neowiz Plans To Reduce Difficulty in Future Updates
After careful consideration of fan feedback, Choi said that the team will be working on future updates to take into account all the complaints players have made. In a "Director’s Letter" video uploaded on Lies of P’s official YouTube channel on June 10, he said that they are looking into when to implement some of the community’s suggestions.
Choi noted that they are paying close attention to the combat experience. He explained, "We identified areas that did not turn out quite as we intended. Therefore, we are reviewing various adjustments, including difficulty reduction. However, combat is one of the most fundamental experiences in Lies of P, so any modifications or changes require meticulous work and thorough testing."
There are no official announcements regarding when this update will come, but Neowiz’s prompt response to the situation was applauded by fans in the comment section. Lies of P: Overture is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
