As announced by Japanese game company Aktasuki Games and entertainment company Toho, the popular anime and manga series, Kaiju No. 8, will be adapted as a game coming to mobile and PC platforms. Tentatively titled Kaiju No. 8: The Game, the game will be available on the App Store, Google Play, and Steam.
The game is being planned, produced, and developed by Akatsuki Games. While specific details about the gameplay have yet to be revealed, the developers have confirmed that the game will include microtransactions. Additionally, the studio is actively seeking more game developers to join the project.
Kaiju No. 8, based on Naoya Matsumoto’s serialized manga, follows the story of Kafka, a man with the ability to transform into a Kaiju. Working for a government agency that combats these monstrous threats, Kafka must keep his ability a secret, even from his closest friends, due to the dangerous nature of his transformation. The anime adaptation began airing in April 2024 and has topped charts on local streaming platforms.
