Elden Ring Mobile Game in the Works
Tencent Reportedly in Charge
According to a recent report by Reuters, sources have revealed that an Elden Ring mobile game is in development. The game is said to be in the works at Tencent Holdings, a Chinese company renowned for developing and publishing popular mobile titles like PUBG Mobile and Pokemon Unite.
According to Reuters, Tencent obtained the licensing rights to create an Elden Ring mobile game in 2022 and formed a team to develop a prototype during the same year. However, “progress has been slow,” as stated by their source.
Elden Ring Mobile will be similar to Genshin Impact
Reuters sources reveal that Tencent aims to develop a free-to-play Elden Ring mobile game with in-app purchases, akin to Genshin Impact. However, the design of Elden Ring as a “single-player, complete experience after a one-time purchase” contradicts Tencent's vision for the game.
Whether this information holds true remains uncertain, as requests for comment from Tencent and FromSoftware have gone unanswered and the sources opted to remain anonymous.
Interestingly, Tencent has reportedly canceled the development of an unannounced NieR mobile game after nearly two years of work. You can read more about the NieR mobile game below.
