InZOI’s developers have confirmed multiplayer is coming to the life-simulation game. Read on to learn more about what led to the decision being made and how it involves South Korean President Lee Jae‑myung.
InZOI Announces Multiplayer Expansion
Presidential Visit Highlights Game Development

InZOI, a life‑simulation game developed on Unreal Engine 5, is adding multiplayer — a feature the InZOI Studio team has quietly been developing. The upcoming update marks the studio’s first major expansion beyond the single-player experience, a feature President Lee Jae‑myung reportedly encouraged during a recent visit.
In a November 11, 2025 interview with Gamer Galaxy, InZOI director Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim shared his observations on the visit. President Lee, who views the gaming industry as a cultural and economic cornerstone for Korea, toured the studio informally and went directly to the InZOI development area, bypassing the usual VIP path. According to Kim, during the visit, the president asked, "shouldn’t we add multiplayer to the artificial world and then put ads on the billboards to boost sales?" He also suggested adding features like nail art while watching the game in action, sparking discussions that linked naturally to the multiplayer plans.

The meeting lasted more than 25 minutes, after which President Lee pulled Kim aside for a private discussion. Kim did not disclose what was said but described the president as "incredibly thorough until the very end." He also noted that Lee appeared enthusiastic about the gaming industry and likely had researched InZOI beforehand, since the game’s genre is still relatively uncommon in the Korean market.
InZOI offers deep, realistic life simulation with hundreds of customization options and AI-driven character behavior, letting players craft unique lives in a richly detailed world. Its blend of realism and creativity has helped it carve out a distinctive place in the life‑simulation genre.
Multiplayer and Community Feedback

Kim confirmed that multiplayer is one of three major systems currently in development, with all three already in active production and a possible rollout late this year or early next year. Throughout this process, InZOI Studio maintains an unusually transparent relationship with its players, engaging weekly on Discord. Unlike many Korean studios, which typically develop games quietly and release them fully rather than using early-access or soft-launch approaches, InZOI actively involves its community. This open communication allows players to provide feedback that helps shape ongoing development.
Despite the South Korean president's advice, community reaction to the multiplayer plans has been mixed, as seen on social media. Some players hope the studio continues refining the single-player experience, while others welcome multiplayer as long as it remains optional and doesn’t interfere with the core gameplay.
InZOI is currently available in Early Access on Steam, with a planned release for PS5 in 2026 and potential availability on Xbox under consideration.
