It also follows the story of Nat, an aspiring actor whose life takes an unexpected turn after spotting a familiar-looking figure on the big screen. Follow him in his worldwide adventure to meet their hero and figure out how to fit in with the world around him.
Herdling Embarks on August 21, 2025
From the creators of the critically-acclaimed FAR Games, Okomotive, and publishers of Firewatch and Untitled Goose Game, Panic, comes an atmospheric adventure in Herdling. Travel across different biomes as you embark on a journey of guiding mythical Calicorns.
Conquer the perilous mountains, navigate through various challenges, and solve light environmental puzzles while keeping your adorable herd safe. Herdling is set to be released on August 21, 2025 on on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
The game will be released later today for the PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile!
BALL X PIT Announces Release Date for the Nintendo Switch
The frenetic roguelike BALL X PIT is a fast-paced fantasy bullet hell where heroes descend into a bottomless pit teeming with monsters. Players can evolve their projectiles through a randomized fusion system, enabling them to equip and combine over 60 unique balls.
Alongside the action, you’ll also manage your own settlement, New Ballbylon, featuring over 70 distinct buildings that grant gameplay bonuses and unlock power-ups, new characters, and more.
BALL X PIT launches on Nintendo Switch this coming October 15, 2025. As for the Nintendo Switch 2, only a release window has been confirmed, with the game expected to arrive in Fall 2025.
Ultimate Sheep Raccoon Coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 this Winter 2025
Ultimate Sheep Raccoon, the lively bike-racing game featuring adorable critters, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 this Winter 2025! Race against up to seven other players through a quirky and crazy obstacle course full of traps and tricks—all in style.

Glaciered Dives In This Holiday on Switch 2
Explore the underwater mysteries of the world 65 million years in the future in Glaciered. The upcoming action-adventure takes players to a post-apocalyptic world after the new ice age, the “Everwinter”, freezes Earth.
Players take the role of Gray, a member of the Tuia species that evolved from birds that live in the depths of the ocean. They must fight for survival against a threatening force that aims to melt Everwinter away.

Neverway finally got a release window and a full trailer in the Indie World Showcase, featuring the jaded Fiona, who travels to Montgomery Island to start her very own farm. But what started out as an escape from her dull city life quickly turns out to be one enshrouded in mystery and danger.
Descend into the abyss and survive treacherous dimensions—all while trying to pay your real-world debts—in this spooky life simulator and action RPG, coming next year to the Nintendo Switch.
Well Dweller is Coming to the Nintendo Switch on 2026
Horror-themed metroidvania Well Dweller is set in a world where evil fears fire and animals are hunted for decoration. Players take on the role of Glimmer, a tiny bird armed with a matchstick, who sets out on a quest to burn the wicked Queen and save his family.
This morbid fairy tale platformer is brought to you by Kyle Thompson, creator of Crypt Custodian and Islets, and published by Top Hat Studios, Inc. It will be released in 2026 for the Nintendo Switch and PC.

The award-winning 2024 cozy adventure game, Little Kitty, Big City, will be getting a surprise update for free! The Little Kitty, Big Kitty: The Picture Purrfect Update will bring players new stylish customization options, from accessories to fur patterns, eye colors, and more! Slink through the big city, strut your stuff, and take endless photoshoots of these cute little creatures with this new update, coming later this year.
Little Kitty, Big City is available on PC, Playstation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. You can download the update for free starting on August 27.

Other Indie World Showcase 2025 Announcements
AAA Titles Are Unlikely to Be Showcased
The Indie World Showcase remains closely tied to Nintendo, but its spotlight will likely be almost exclusively on indie games headed to the company’s latest platforms—namely the Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. While Nintendo does have a few in-house projects on the horizon, such as Metroid Prime 4, the upcoming event is expected to center largely on third-party indie titles.
That doesn’t rule out the possibility of major surprises. Highly anticipated games like Witchbrook, ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier, and Team Cherry’s long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong are all potential scene-stealers if they make an appearance.
Of course, nothing is confirmed until the showcase actually airs, so there’s still a chance Nintendo slips in a glimpse or two of major AAA offerings amid the indie highlights.
Still Holding Out for Hollow Knight: Silksong
Many fans were understandably disappointed when Hollow Knight: Silksong was a no-show during the July 2025 Nintendo Direct, not even making a brief appearance. However, another opportunity for Team Cherry’s elusive sequel to their acclaimed metroidvania could still be on the horizon.
While there’s been no official confirmation of Silksong appearing in the upcoming Indie World Showcase 2025—and with the presentation’s tight 15-minute runtime, expectations are understandably tempered—this might be the perfect moment to reintroduce the game ahead of its playable demo at Gamescom 2025 and its anticipated release shortly after.
Hades 2 Could Be Right Around the Corner
Another hotly anticipated indie juggernaut is Supergiant Games’ godlike roguelike sequel, Hades 2. Appropriately steeped in myth, the follow-up to the studio’s breakout hit has been steadily nearing completion, with recent announcements confirming that it’s now in the final stretch of development. Its most recent patch, The Unseen Update, was confirmed to be the last major update before version 1.0, followed by a wave of quality-of-life improvements and balance adjustments.
With Hades 2 slated to launch on PC alongside both the Switch and Switch 2, the Indie World Showcase could mark a key milestone for the game, either as the venue for its long-awaited 1.0 release or at least the reveal of its official launch date, although either prospect is yet to be confirmed.
